The Protestant Reformation’s central issue in a single word was grace. The Thematic Reference Bible defines the term "Reformation" as: “The process of bringing religious practices and beliefs back into line with the Word of God”. And in the same spirit that led the reformers, the mission of Recovery Reformation is the abolishing of non-Christian concepts and returning to biblical principles when it comes to Christians dealing with habitual sins such as alcohol and drug abuse.
Removing the barriers to reaching God that man has put in place through psychology and twelve step programs and returning to the sufficiency of God’s grace through His Word. Rejecting the non-Biblical teachings of the twelve steps and related programs, and being transformed by the renewing of the mind by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
The word recovery is closely tied with Alcoholics Anonymous, the twelve steps, and the modern recovery industry. If you have attended AA meetings, you have no doubt listened to people who have been “in recovery” for decades. They've followed directions and worked the twelve step program in order to maintain sobriety, but with no victory over their addictions. Sadly, they've been led to believe they are diseased and will never be healed.
We believe God’s grace is sufficient and is provided through the transforming power of The Holy Spirit, the truth of scripture and in the gathering and fellowship of believers.
We strongly encourage you to read our Articles page for detailed, factual information regarding the twelve steps origins and non-Biblical teachings. The Bible is our standard of truth.
Recovery Reformation is about victory over sin and freedom in Jesus Christ!
