Is this a reasonable argument against free will: Adam and Eve had the free choice to either obey or disobey, and because they did the latter, mankind was cursed and in bondage to sin and death? If it is then how could anyone possibly have "free will"?

I think the key to answering this question is properly defining what free will is. For man to have free will means that he is free to choose what he wants. Now, when we talk about man being in bondage to sin and death, we are talking about the orientation of the will. Because of the fall, man only wants to choose sin. That's what it means to be in bondage to sin - not that man is forced to sin, but that man only wants to sin. Consequently, that is also what makes it impossible to turn to God and obey him with out being born again.
