Today RC Spoul passed away in a Florida hospital surrounded by his family. You can read about his life and service here.RC's teaching changed my life, and his teaching style captivated me from the beginning. He covered a wide range of topics and made them easy for me to understand. He pointed me to Christ and I'm forever grateful to the Lord that through RC's faithfulness I had an awakening to God's Word. To me, RC was a hero. As I reflected on his passing my mind drifted to how the church will carry on it's mission without his influence. Yet, if I have learned anything through his ministry it's that the Lord is Sovereign, and in his Providence he will raise up others to stand firm for the Gospel and His Word. Through the influence of those great and small, the gospel will spread and God will be glorified. As I put my boys to bed tonight and prayed with my family, I cried and praised God for RC, feeling a mixture of sorry and joy over his loss. As I talked with them I explained that he changed my life and did so much to point me to Jesus, and that God often raises up warriors like him for his truth. At that moment, my 6 year old Luke said, "I hope that one day I can be a warrior for God like him." What a joy! I don't know what God has in store for me and my family, but I am confident that RC's service to the Lord will have an impact for ages to come. -A
